Sebastian Mussnig, MD

PhD Candidate

Sebastian finished his medical studies at the Medical University of Vienna in July 2023. During his last year of medical school, in October 2022, he was accepted to the competitive MDPhD program as a PhD candidate in the thematic program "Medical Physics". He joined the HD & Co Research Group in 2020 initially as a mentee and diploma student of Manfred Hecking’s and later became a member of the “Closing The Loop In Hemodialysis” study team. His current research topics include the study of bioimpedance spectroscopy in pulmonary hypertension (diploma thesis)  and hemodialysis patients, fluid management in hemodialysis as well as technical advancements of bioimepdance spectroscopy devices.
In his free-time he enjoys reading and filmmaking.
