Michael Schmiedecker, MD

Michael joined the HD & Co research group in his sixth semester of medical school. He wrote his diploma thesis on the relationship between specific blood volume and relative blood volume reduction in maintenance hemodialysis patients. The results are currently being finalized for a publication, with Daniel Schneditz being the last author. After having completed this project, Michael was part of the organizing team for Part B of the Project "Closing the loop in Hemodialysis".
In February 2022, Michael went to Mexico to gather mortality data of hemodialysis patients at the "Instituto Nacional de Cardiología", Mexico City, for the Project "Comparative Analysis of Outcomes in Hemodialysis Patients: Mexico City vs Tassin, France vs international DOPPS".
