Dilara Gülmez, MD
PHD Candidate
In 2022, she became a member of Manfred Hecking's Research Group to investigate the perspectives of patients and caregivers on Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD). The CKD study entailed the distribution of questionnaires to more than 800 participants across eight provinces in Austria.
Upon the successful completion of the CKD project, Dilara has now taken on a new international endeavor focusing on Long COVID. Under the guidance and supervision of Ulrich Kropiunigg, Manfred Hecking, and Lenka Grula, this project aims to comprehensively explore how Long COVID may manifest differently in men, women, and gender-diverse individuals.
Dilara's active engagement in both practical medical experience during her clerkship and substantial research undertakings with Manfred Hecking's Research Group showcases her dedication to advancing medical knowledge and understanding crucial aspects of healthcare. Her contributions to these projects hold the potential to make valuable contributions to the medical community and improve patient care, particularly regarding Long COVID and CKD's gender-specific implications.
